Boutique Property Player Rembawang Recognised For CSR Contribution

In line with an ongoing commitment towards creating contributions with values to the nation and society, founder and group chief executive chairman of Rembawang Holdings Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Kamisah Johan was recently recognised for her continuous commitment and contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility by receiving the award for the SME/Personality category at the CSR Malaysia Awards 2018.

She received the accolade for championing social and welfare initiatives, supporting numerous worthy causes, from animal welfare to reducing food shortage and providing poverty-ridden families with educational, medical, and meal assistance, among others.

“At Rembawang Holdings we strive to instil a culture of corporate responsibility. We consider it part of our role to be a socially responsible organisation that makes a positive impact on local communities and promotes sustainable developments,” she added.

Dato’ Kamisah received the award from the guest of honour Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, who honoured 34 Malaysian companies, listed and private, for their CSR efforts.

Other notable recipients include 7-Eleven, AirAsia, Axiata, Canon, KPJ Hospitals, KPMG, RHB Bank, Shell and Tesco.

In addition to that, Dato’ Kamisah was also awarded the Ikon Wanita Dalam Hartanah Award at the Anugerah Personaliti Industri & Usahawan Malaysia 2018. A self-made entrepreneur in the property industry, she received the award for her outstanding work over the 8 years as a leading woman entrepreneur in a male-dominated field. Starting her career in the hotel management line, she moved into the property industry in the year 2001, developing a passion for this segment ever since.
