Well-fed tummies, Attentive Kiddies: Rembawang Holding’s sponsors after-school lunch for needy students

Every child deserves the right to education Most importantly, every child deserves to have all the opportunities necessary to gain access to education without worrying about resources or hunger.

Rembawang Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (RHSB) is sponsoring after-school lunches for 117 students from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (T) Sg Manggis and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (T) Telok Datok for their Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) extra classes beginning 1 March till 31 August 2020.

RHSB is sponsoring the lunches to encourage students to stay back after school for the extra classes provided by the two schools. These students come from under privileged families and their parents cannot afford to give them extra pocket money if they stayed back for their extra classes.

“We hope that this lunch sponsorship for the two schools mentioned, will help ease the burden of the students and parents. Instead about worrying about their next meal, these students can be rest assured that they only need to focus on their studies and create a good foundation for their future secondary and tertiary education,” said Dato’ Kamisah Johan, Group Executive Chairman of Rembawang Holding Sdn. Bhd.

Dato’ Kamisah had the opportunity to visit both of the schools on 5 March and she met with the UPSR students from those schools.

“We think it is important to raise awareness that education is crucial in uplifting low-income communities out of the B40 category in society. It would be a shame that factors such as limited access to educators and resources, as well as, the lack of infrastructure and nutrition becomes a hindrance for these students to better themselves. We hope that this small contribution would play a small part in these students’ pursuit of education and a better quality of life,” she added Rembawang Holdings wishes all of these students the best of luck for their after-school classes, their upcoming UPSR examinations and for their future.
